Here's the deal:
I have a recording studio and I've just recently purchased a 2nd computer.
I've been using one computer for everything including music applications.
I've bought the 2nd machine because I'm going to dedicate it exclusively to
music. However, the 2nd machine is going to be using dual monitors (the
other one has one monitor).
I am going to use the older computer for surfing, word documents, etc. but
I'm trying to figure out how I can share just one keyboard and one mouse for
both computers. I don't have the room in the control room for both.
What would be the best way to make this work?
I looked up KVM's but I noticed that they all have monitor outputs also.
Does this mean that I take one video out to each of the computers and then
then jump out of the music computer to the 2nd monitor? Or, can I just get
by connecting the keyboard and mouse only and let each computer's video
outputs take care of the rest? To make matters worst, I want to use my USB
intellimouse...so I don't even know if I can get a KVM that supports USB and
the keyboard (I guess that's PS2) connect.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You don't need to connect the monitors to the KVM switch. Just connect them
to the PCs as normal.
About the USB mouse, I'm pretty sure that there are KVM switches out there
that support USB. You can also use a USB to PS2 converter. They usually
come packaged with the mouse.
