something mighty strange is going on here. from one day to the next my
hotmail account suddenly became inaccessible. i tried accessing it over the
internet (IE6), outlook express, communicator, messenger. everything. so i
thought it was a problem with hotmail. but no, i'm able to access anybody
else's account. just not mine. if i go to another computer it works just
fine. i've deleted all temporary internet files, run norton windoctor,
regclean, and removed all instances of my account from the registry (it
think). still no joy. outlook says it can't retrieve my messages and over
the internet all i end up with is a page diplaying "0". no shit. how apt.

please, any suggestions would be fab. i really need my mail.

thanks

What about PASSPORT sites, try one of those. I had this problem for a while,
any passport site just wouldn't load.

You don't describe your problem well enough. I doubt you'll get any help
unless you put forth the effort to properly describe in detail the problem
you are having.

ok, serious description commencing.

i have a hotmail account. i read email there. i've set up outlook express 6
to access and download my hotmail without me having to use IE. very nice
feature. it worked beautifully. then suddenly it stopped. i kept getting an
error message like this:

(Traffic-Server/5.1.1-R [c s f ])

Configuration:
Account: Hotmail (1)
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
User name: thefre...@hotmail.com
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 80004005

so i thought that, well, maybe hotmail was down, i'll try agin later. same
thing. so i ask my girlfriend to try and check her mail (hotmail too) - no
problem. anybody can check their hotmail, except me. so i've had to create a
new address and new account. i really want my old one back. is this clear
now? i can't access my hotmail. and only mine. not by using outlook express,
opera, ie6, communicator. nothing. but only on my computer. if i go to any
other machine i can read my email just fine. what could be causing this?
registry, cookies? i've deleted all cookies, cleaned out the registry using
regclean, norton windoctor, even gone in manually and deleted all instances
of my email address. i've re-installed xp. no joy.

i really need suggestions here. is there any way to completely clean out all
evidence of having ever used the internet from the computer (and i don't
mean clearing the history). i want my XP to think that i've never used the
internet. how do i do that.

is this detailed enough? anything you feel i may have left out?

thanks
