Problem description: You boot your computer. You connect on the internet
and everything goes fine. After a while, for whatever reason you get
disconnected so you reconnect...everything looks normal BUT you CAN'T
get any activity online! No data. You have to reboot your computer to
get the thing to works.
This is NOT an ISP or driver problem.
I am not sure but I think Zone Alarm maybe responsible for this. (I have
the latest version).
Someone can help US?
Ben
Unfortunately, you are right. Zone Alarm is bug ridden for XP and
destructive. It wasted my Norton Antivirus's ability to autodownload
virus defs and I cannot host anymore with my PCanywhere 10.5.
The plight of the nasty Zone Alarm troubles is well documented on
Symantec's web page and other people's posts here.

Are you by any chance using Agent?
No, I am not.
Ben
Click on Start
Click on 'Connect to' and select 'show all connections'
Right click on my DSL connection under "LAN or High Speed Internet"
Right click on 'Status' and select the 'support tab'.
Then click on 'Repair'
It's a pain, but faster than rebooting and it works for my connection.

Can you post some more detailed information about what swbell said exactly,
regarding it being a "problem with XP"?
Thanks,
Jeremy

I think I have found something...
Open the Zone Alarm panel ---> Security ---> set "Medium" for both,
"local" and "internet".
It worked for me! (so far...)
