PLEASE HELP!

I thought I'd repost this in hopes that someone can help. I wrote and had
said that, while playing xbox online, I had to turn off my XP firewall and
when I did the computer would shut off without warning. Someone told me the
computer was probably crashing and to turn off the auto-restart option and
read the blue screen. Here's what the blue screen says: Again, this problem
occurs ONLY when the firewall is disabled:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to
your computer.

PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES

If this is the 1st time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. If screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If
this is a new install, ask hardware of software man. for any windows updates
you might need.

If problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed software or
hardware. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode...(irrelevant)

Okay, so as far as I know I haven't installed anyhting new...the only change
seems to be disabling the stupid worthless XP firewall.

You need to run a check for virus's, Trojans, adware, crap which phones home
etc.

Yes before you mouth the words "but the xp firewall only stops incoming
traffic"

SO, what does that tell you?

Without your firewall in place something is running and causing a failure
which doesn't happen when the firewall is in place.

Why don't you try installing ZAP or another firewall which will do a proper
job.
Set that up and then disable the XP firewall and tell us what the results
are. The chance is that ZAP would be able to tell you which programs are
trying to phone home.

Also found the what seems to be the cause for locked pages:
0x00000076: PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES
This error message is caused by a driver not cleaning up completely after an
I/O operation. The General Discussion article below contains a method to
track the problem if it recurs, and identify the problem driver. (The third
parameter of the error message shows the number of locked pages.)
