Is there any way to prevent "Guest" users of my computer from changing
desktop settings?

TIA for any pointers.

I don't think that the group policy editor is included with Pro.
This time last year most of the people in this NG had Pro, but know I think
most have Home, included with their new PCs.

I'm sure you're right, though I can't imagine why anyone would buy HE.
They may as well have one hand tied behind them.
So, if they chose HE, they'll have to root around in the registry.

Just for the sake of argument John, [you've never heard of lesbian
homosexuals?] I reckon that HE users wouldn't really want to mess around in
the registry.

So my advice would be to buy XP Pro.

or maybe X-Setup might help.

No argument there. HE is the AOL of XP. Using HE is just one step away
from having that secret family meeting where they discuss putting a person
in an Assisted Computing Facility (Loving Care for the Technically Spare):

Hey, I'll have to get my Dad enrolled for that course. I think he gave up
computing as soon as he started, as I could understand the Apple IIe better
than he could. I was only 8 years old.
