If it happens only since the CPU change then there's your problem. Maybe it
needs a bit more voltage, maybe it needs less. Maybe you fucked it. Whatever
it is, it has nothing to do with XP, you stupid fuck.

I had that problem once and after a lot of searching for answers and
getting no where I found the problem to be a bad power plug connection to
the hard drive, swaped it with a spare one and all was well again.
worth a check nothing to lose.
