As title - (Windows Key + E)- worked fine up 'til yesterday and I don't
remember making any serious changes that would cause it to fail. If I had a
better memory (in my head not computer), I'd remember how I some time
previously changed it to open by default to C drive rather than My Docs
(registry edit of some sort). Maybe then I'd be able to redefine it.
Meantime any help gratefully received.

Rob

See "How to Restore the Operating System to a Previous State in
Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306084).
Changing the Properties of the Windows Explorer shortcut does not
affect the WIN + E hotkey, because this does not use the shortcut.

Thanks but no thanks - system restore is not for me. I probably haven't made
it clear looking at my post again, but the config changes I made to W
Explorer were *ages* ago - no relation to the current lack of response to
the W + E keyboard shortcut. I just thought someone would know how to
restore this particular shortcut - but I'm not surprised there's no apparent
easy answer to this one - Google search showed nothing of direct relevance
(not at least as far as the results pages so far down the line that I was
nearly asleep).
