do u want to de-grade down or dual boot?

If I think u wanna do what I think u wanna do by de-grading...

only way i know is to back up your personal files and run the 2000 cd and do
a fresh install...

maybe someone else has a better suggestion

Make a separate partition for W2K
Boot fro the W2K CD (or 4 floppies)
Install to your new partition.
Edit the boot.ini from within XP and add a reference to W2K

You will need to create a new partition to install WIN2000 to. If you don't
have any unpartitioned space on the drive then you will need to do one of
the following:
1. Get something along the lines of Partition Magic to reduce the size of
the XP partition to allow you to create another partition for 2000.
2. Get a second HD (about the same cost as Partition Magic) and install
2000 on it.
3. Fdisk the drive, create two or more partitions and start over.
If you install 2000 after XP, XP will probably not be able to start. It
seems that 2000 will overwrite some of XP's boot files. This is what
happened to me anyway. To correct this, just reboot from the XP CD and let
it repair the existing XP installation.

As mentioned in another reply, Partition Magic 7 will let you do this. I
used it to install W/98 on my XP computer without uninstalling XP. At least
this is one way to do it and it works. Let me know if you need further
help.
