uninstall image devices problem - please help

I have 4 'unknown imaging devices' in Device Manager. How do i
remove them ? Whenever i try to uninstall i get error message saying
'Failed. Device may be required to boot machine' (or something like that). I
have tried disabling first, but no joy. I have tried in safe mode, but no
joy. I have unplugged device, but no joy
....any ideas ?
