invalid boot file

I am getting this message on start up

Invalid boot ini file
Booting from C:\Windows

Although everything starts up and runs ok so should I ignore it or
investigate further. May have something to do with the scanner when I
loaded it. Read me file said for Win2000 (I'm using XP) to rename in
WinNT/System32/drivers folder UDNT.SYS to UDNT.BAK or the system may not
start up. I took a chance and didn't change it (basically cos I don't know
how to) and everything does start up and run ok except for that initial
error message.
