I know this subject has been brought up several times before, but none
of the solutions offered so far worked for me. =( Well, basically I
get a 'Program too big to fit in memory' error every time I try to run
a fairly large DOS EXE (larger than 1 MB or so). Small DOS EXE's work
just fine. I think that's a bit strange, I mean for example the
install EXE for VisualRoute is only about 1.5 MB. That's not THAT
much, is it? Yet it refuses to run on my system (Windows XP without
any service packs). Other programs such as the install EXE for the
Opera7 web browser (file size = about 11 MB or so) cause the same
error message in the DOS prompt. The thing is the exact same EXE's
used to run just fine on my old Windows 98 system, and I had only half
the memory that I have now (256 MB as opposed to 512 MB on my XP
computer). I tried all the compatibility modes and memory settings, I
fiddled with the autoexec.nt and config.nt files, I've been to dozens
of competent support forums - NOTHING did the trick. My very sanity is
at stake, pleaeeeeese help me!!

Markus
Right click My Computer on your desktop and select Properties> Advanced
Tab> click Settings under Performance> Advanced Tab
What is the value of Total paging file size for all drives? If that does
not show something equal to the setting for initial size (or bigger),
then something is preventing VM from working.
And also click Change and make sure System managed size is ticked.
