Why one gig? Unless you are working with very large files(like
4000 dpi scans of slides for example), 512 meg should be more
than enough.

Bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. NAY! Complete fucking codswallop.

I need 1GB because I use Photoshop, VB6, SQLServer with any number of C and
Java based AI clients with any number of open ODBC connections. Plus, I
don't want my system swapping out, so whilst I can run without a swapfile at
512MB, I can run more apps, and run them faster, without a swapfile with 1GB
of RAM. Plus, the machine acts as file server for four other machines.

Besides that, XP is itself memory hungry. 512Mb or less can and does cause a
performace drop. RAM is cheap and users of XP should stock up on it. I had
256MB of 266MHz DDR and 512MB of 333MHz DDR underclocked to 266 MHz, giving
a total of 768Mb of memory running at 266 MHz in this machine two weeks ago.
It made a massive difference compared to running with 512Mb. The machine
with the new, additional, 512MB of 333 MHz DDR runs faster than it did two
weeks ago with 768MB, despite the higher clock speed.

If you're just a fucking pussy user who likes to run a few chat apps and OE
and a single instance of IE, all you fucking need is 64MB of RAM. So don't
go fucking well assuming that everyone is a PC loser like yourself.

What i mean, i have pc2100 ram running at 133.

If i get some pc2700 and up the FSB to 150 or more.

Would that make the PC faster ?

And if so what ram shoudl i go for, and what ram shoudl i forget about
becuase my system just cant use it ?

I have Up the FSb upto 140 but not stable, makes the pc faster, get
nearly 9000 in 3dmark2001 se.

Would it be better to just use PC 2700 and knock it upto 150 fsb ?

Ive heard of memmory and fsb being out of sync, and that meaning a
slower system.

What settings hsould i set so its in sync and running at optimal
settings for my board ?

Thanks all
