Having a cable modem is nice sometimes, but
I guess I just may be a bit paranoid, but when my pc is unattended, i
alwyas do the following:
right click on the network neighborhood icon,
click on properties, right click on the NIC card
then select disable.

I would like to just do this with a batch file, is it possible?
is there a net stop _____ command??

any help from someone with knowledge on the subject??

thanks

Here is how I set up an easy way to enable/disable cable modem:

Part one
1) open network connections.
2) right click on the internet connection
3) select create shortcut and place on desktop.

Part two
1) open network connection
2) double click on internet connection
3) select properties
4) check show icon in notification area

With this setup when you are connected you can right click on the icon in
the notification area and select disable.

To enable the connection just double click on the shortcut.
