When I boot up, it goes to the desktop and then to "My Computer". After I
close "My Computer", everything works fine. I have tried re-installing
Windows XP but it does the same thing. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Has your 'my computer' somehow found its way into your startup folder?

Deja vu.

Anyway, why would I be asking young buys to suck peanuts out of a donkey?
And which end of this unfortunate donkey did you have in mind to be sucked?
