Many people are having trouble with XP and ECDC combination. Are you using Direct CD? If not uninstall it as it could be the culprit or at least make sure you have no DCD formatted CDs in the drive unless you are using them. You may have to change software. And no this is not XPs fault ECDC is a notoriously unstable product and seems to have been that way for a long time. For ease of use and seemingly zero problems you might wish to RecordNow Max 4. There is a 30 day trial here http://www.stompinc.com/trial/index.phtml?stp

Did you have prior OEM version before you installed the Platinum? If
so you should completely remove that version. The upgrade to 5.1
automatically should disable Take Two. It did on mine. I have XP and it
works great for me. Did you check to make sure that your burner is
actually compatible with EZ Creator? Also have you asked your question in
the Roxio discussion group? You get some good advice there too. If you
remove the program, does the blue screen go away? You probably alread
paid close to $100.00 for this program, keep working on it because it is a
very good program. It worked fine for me on Win98SE and now on XP.

that is the name of the program. Easy Creator CD Creator. DCD is Direct CD.
DCD is used for formating a CD R/W disk to use as a large 650 meg floppy
disk. This is great to store your documents, pictures anything you want to
keep yet have easy access to the information.

If you should decide to uninstall EZ Creator for another program the
following site will tell you how to uninstall everything from XP.

Good Luck with whatever you do.

Dave this is an old trick that some folks used with Windows 9x/Me. Especially if they had limited resources like slower CPU or minimal RAM. As you know Win9x/Me is not good at releasing resources so the reboot helped. I have never found it necessary to do this with Windows 2000 or XP.
Only gotta reboot ifi t doesn't let you logout.. ;)

Chris I never have had to "keep logging in and out" to have ECDC work in 2000 or XP. You must have me confused with someone else ;-)

Many problems with "access denied" and "read only" which can't be fixed with
the properties option nor with the command line.
Any suggestions appreciated.
