Why Linux Sucks
It is ugly out of the box

Linux has been largely used in the server scenario, yet there are many
deluded morons out there who think it can compete against both Windows
and Mac OS when it comes to desktop usage. If you have ever used
Linux, you know what I’m talking about: it is EXTREMELY ugly. Not to
mention the bad UX, I have had many crashes using both Ubuntu and
Fedora. Never tried Arch or Gentoo, I just don’t get why fucktards use
these distros, maybe they think they are 100% anonymous and their data
won’t be collected anymore, or they feel superior because they use a
different package manager and went through a command-line installation
(LMFAO).

2. Mistakenly claimed as “stable”

Debian is where Linux started, and where it should have ended. There
are many retards out there who claim that Debian 10 is the “GOD of
stability”. This is fucking hilarious, I have NEVER had any crashes
using Windows 10 on VirtualBox and NEVER had any BSODS or stuttering
on my Windows 10 workstation, however when I decided to deploy a
Debian 10 VM the GUI won’t simply appear. I tried again, and again and
again until it simply won’t work at all and I was just being fooled,
but that’s what Linux is all about – a fucking joke.

There will always be that guy who says they have an Amiga at home and
a Linux workstation and server, and left it turned on for years. If
you believe people who claim nonsensical bullshit like this, you
should really go see a shrink (one can easily fake the uptime of their
machine).

3. Lack of REAL software

Linux users just can’t have Visual Studio, Adobe products and other
private software that would be required for professional work because
companies won’t support it since they should focus in making cash, not
attending needs for edgy assholes, right?

Thus, Linux fucktards claim that some of these companies are secretly
paid by Microsoft not to deploy their software for Linux (not saying
this couldn’t be true, MS got them smart moves. LOL) Microsoft’s CEO
Satya Nadella is an open-minded guy, pretty much the opposite of Steve
Ballmer, and is embracing Linux – but that’s another smart move. They
have become platinum members of the Linux Foundation and are slowly
buying control of Linux by showing support to the open-source
initiative. “If you can’t beat your enemy, join them” describes The
Linux Foundation sucking Microsoft balls perfectly.

4. Controversies

I’m not even going to talk about the ego controversies between Linux
users when it comes to being superior by using an editor over another,
or even if it’s about distros. Linus Torvalds flipped his middle
finger and said “Fuck You” to NVIDIA, well I guess you know why…
NVIDIA doesn’t really like GNUtards sucking on their balls for decent
drivers, specially if they don’t know how to suck balls.

Richard Stallman is a fucking moron, the dude even said on a video
he’s never installed GNU/Linux (doesn’t mean he’s never used it
though). But the thing about him that I find disgusting is his
thoughts on pedophilia.

“From the perspective of someone who cares about technology,
Stallman’s views undermine the progress of free software, and will
cement its reputation in some quarters as a fringe sphere populated by
weirdos.” – extracted from TheNextWeb article “Free Software Icon
Richard Stallman has some moronic thoughts about pedophilia”.

On the other hand, Bill Gates, alongside his wife, is a brilliant
philanthropist nowadays, and has improved life on Earth in many senses
and has never been involved in such a shameful polemic and doesn’t
have disgusting thoughts. He emphasizes reading physical books as a
MUST for every single human being out there as he’s passionate about
reading and acknowledges we are life-time learners. His billion
dollars is nothing compared is humility – something that someone just
can’t have or buy, you are born and raised with it.

TL;DR

Linux users, fuck straight off.

I would like to thank both Tim Sweeney (despite hating Epic Games,
including all Fortnite community, and gaming in general) and Steve
Ballmer for their endless efforts on showing the world how cancerous
Linux can be and showing these communist delusional morons their lives
are extremely pathetic because they are retards who think using an OS
over another make them better than everybody else. Ballmer, however,
was hypocrite when he said “I may have called Linux a cancer but now I
love it”, it’s not because he doesn’t run Microsoft anymore and has
made a lot of cash out of it that he should say something stupid like
this – shame on you, pal.

Damn, the 90’s was a golden time. I remember back then when I was in
college and my professors told me Linux was going to take over the
world – I feel really bad for them now.

a non programmer.

I finally reached the point, late in 2019 where I stopped fooling

no longer existed on any of my systems.

I realized how many lies I had told about Linux "just working" when
various trolls would appear on blogs and so forth asking for help with
Linux problems.
And I realized how much time I spent trying to make Linux function
properly and realized it was darn near impossible.

So yes, I do feel better.

no it hasn't.

android is not a full linux distro. it's the linux kernel, with android
built on top of it. all apps are written to android apis, not linux.

linux on the desktop currently has a very low single digit percentage
market share. that is not 'taking over the world'.

for servers and embedded devices, it's quite common, however.

I haven't used Linux junk and can't imagine ever using it.  The point is Windows does everything that I am interested in - Tax software, Accounting Software, Adobe products, Corel products, Visual Studio, SQL Server, COED, Office365, and others I don't care to list them here!!.  You use the platform that is ideal for the task at hand.  Some people use Linux servers for web pages and data storage;  I still use Microsoft servers and IIS.

Microsoft is trying to to create apps for Linux but it has a long way to go.  They have released .net for Linux and c# and sql server for Linux but chances are Linux developers aren't inclined to capitalise on these free software from Microsoft so we are still talking of about 10 to 15 years before Linux takes off really seriously.

Mind you, Microsoft is pondering whether to give away Windows for free and to release the source code to the open source community but it has a long way to go.  I suspect, Microsoft might just release its own Linux version so that it can package its own products into it.

So yes, I do feel better.

Sorry. English is my third language so I am not that great with it.
Elitast = elitist
dumb as a rock, Linux elitist.

So basically the person I am replying to is a moron and is using the worn
out tactic of Linux users by virtue of using Linux being superior to the
other 98 percent of computer users that don't run Linux.

It's as bad as the "Linux run super computers" deflection.
Let me know when you have a super computer in your basement as I would
love to take a look.

The best you Linux using idiots can manage is lame attempts at
deflection.
Why not just admit that Linux sucks and your sample of one running Debian
counts for nothing.
There are still people who believe the earth is flat.
Why not join them and start your own "Linux is great, desktop Linux that
is" organization.
Good luck with that.

Actually most Linux users ignore the entire irrelevant issue. So do
most Windows users. Only a miniscule number of loons get worked up

Somehow and for some bizarre reason, you feel threatened by GNU/Linux

Nobody is threatened by Linux and pointing out how much Linux sucks isn't
a sign of any impending threat.
This is just another excuse the Linux kooks use to explain away the fact

Are you aware that about 90% of the world computing is done on Linux?
There is only a resisting niche, the Aple desktop and the Windows desktop.

Probably it is what psychologists call " Self-fulfilling prophecy " on your part so I suggest take this crap to your Linux Junk newsgroup as Windows has what you call some sort of font bug.

Surely, you don't want to hang out with Windows users who have some sort of bug as you have managed to diagnose them from your basement apartment window.

"Linux," is /ONLY/ that kernel. Everything else in a Linux distro is
either GNU tools or software written elsewhere. "Linux," is not a
company nor a distro and makes no other software than the kernel.
GNU/Linux distros are what most are familiar with but Android is a
Linux distro just as much as is Debian or Red Hat. Different toolset
and software is all.

Marek's name has come up a lot recently... I remember having that
discussion with him. What happens is people use the term in different
ways. The desktop Linux distros are often just referred to as "Linux",
but of course each distro is a LOT more than just Linux, and Linux is
tied to a lot more than just the desktop (and actually does much better
in terms of market share in places outside of the desktop).

Speaking of not being in the top tier of intelligence, has it occurred
to you that only 47% of the world's population even has access to a
computer? How, then, can 90% use Windows on their non-existant

The funny part is he is using slrn which is a throwback to the 1970's
and a DEC VT100 terminal.
Every option, including colors, are controlled by a text configuration
file .slrnrc.
So if you want to change the color of the text for example you need to
edit the file and add something like CYAN to it, then save, restart
slrn, rinse and repeat 100 times until you find a combination you
like.

Also slrn needs a helper application like slrnpull or leafnode to read
offline. Otherwise it downloads one article at a time as you read
them.
Very slow, especially considering it's a cli application.

Linux worshipers wear slrn like some badge of intelligence because
they were able to configure and use it.
Doesn't matter that it's a God awful program still left in the 70's,
the complexity, especially when coupled with the editor vi or emacs
makes them feel superior.

It's one reason why Linux users are considered dysfunctional. There
are many more of course but we can leave that for another day.

How about you find a news reader with a working spell checker.
What's the matter, doesn't the nano editor automatically correct
spelling errors?
Last time I looked, it highlighted errors but didn't actually offer
suggestions for correction.
How useless is that?

Another Linux fail.

Simply pointing out how Jason Butts tried to play the elitist Linux

You Linux losers are very bad at advocating Linux but I will admit

I use open source on macOS... and much of what Apple supplies by default
is open source.

As far as I know all versions of macOS are on Darwin of one version or
another.

I have looked into running tin but never done it -- would not be hard
but would have to install brew which I have just never done. From what I
have seen it is completely safe to do so, though it might have to be
re-installed on OS updates.

And would be easy to do:

LINUX itself IS ONLY the kernel. Android is just as much a linux distro

I've ran linux mint and MX linux for several years now non stop, as
fulltime desktop OSes. I have a single native Windows PC present on
the network; and it's about to be migrated to Linux too or possibly
retired after all these years. It might still make a suitable file
server, though.

I haven't had any real issues to speak of in the entire time I've
been using linux. KDE looks great to me - which is why I still have
Mint 17.3 <G> - I don't like the MX linux default GUI nearly as much,
but it's not a deal breaker either.

I don't know what this individuals hardware is, but, I've got linux
running here on quite a variety of stuff, made by a variety of
different manufacturers and both of the linux distro's have been
chugging along just fine. This is stuff from Dell, tyan, gigabyte,
asus, nvidia, ati, Amd, and Intel. I've got quite a mix of desktop
(towers) and laptops here.

No issues to report with any of them. Everything works as expected.
Nvidia drivers are loaded and working; despite being proprietary.

I'm not a gamer though, unless you count retro gaming and/or
emulation; so linux meets my entertainment needs as well. If you're
into the latest online games on a PC though, linux probably isn't for
you.

I have a background as a technician too, so that didn't make the
linux process harder for me. That being said, with the modern
distro's, I don't think you need to be a tech to get them installed
and loaded. If you can put windows 10 on a box, you shouldn't have
trouble with a modern linux distro.

Okay. So, if you're using a modern car that's all touch screen, it's
probably got linux under the hood. As well as your router and other
networking gear. Feel free to junk that linux powered trash and go
back to the stuff you used previously. Don't worry about
vulnerabilities, etc. The manufacturers will eventually get around to
making firmware modifications to their proprietary non linux stuff to
get you 'secure' again.

no, it definitely hasn't.

linus ix mostly used in servers and embedded devices, *not* the desktop
or pocket.

linux on the desktop is <1% share. for mobile, it's either android or
ios. android has a stripped down kernel with android on top and ios
does not have any linux whatsoever (although does use a significant
amount of open source components).

when people say linux, they mean the full install, not just the kernel,
which is useless without anything else.

android uses a stripped down linux kernel since quite a bit of it is
not relevant for a mobile device or android itself.

android is in no way a linux distro like redhat etc.

note that android is listed separately in the link above, not lumped
into linux.

most people at those companies and schools use mac, windows, ios and
android, not linux, although they might use linux indirectly, such as
on a server.

no, it simply means it's something other than android, ios, macos,
windows or linux.

they don't have a category for chrome os, so it might include that, or
that might be lumped in with linux.

it could also be a custom build of the usual suspects that didn't

that company was <https://www.mcintoshlabs.com>, who is known for audio
equipment that uses vacuum tubes/valves.

apple later licensed the trademark and eventually bought it outright.

no, they very definitely aren't.

there are much better amps, and ones that last a lot longer too.

the so called 'warmth' from tube/valve amps is distortion.

those who want that type of distortion can add it back if they prefer,
but it's incorrect to claim the presence of distortion is better.

are much better with way less distortion.

I have built Preamps and power amps of both types and prefer the solid

i think they're the only ones who still make general purpose tube amps,
versus specialized stuff like guitar amps.

surprisingly, there's still enough customers who don't understand audio
to keep them in business.

You should know about obsolete technology, I mean you should, but you
don't. after all you're using it.

Agent is stuck in the 90s with no unicode support, and a developer who
seems to have quit 6 years ago after 14+ years of failing to implement
any sort of unicode support. whereas SLRN is still being maintained,

Anyway back to your other mistakes above.

DEC VT100 terminal doesn't do CYAN, that would be a VT200. but I'm not
using that either.

yeah, on-line reading is slow, so I don't do that... reading from a
local spool is plenty fast.

I use it becase it's fast and does what I want.

I only spell check important posts, you're not important.

It is just Linux with a different desktop :-P

We don't need the desktop if we have all the rest :-P

nope. android is its own os, sitting on top of a stripped down linux
kernel.

android apps are written to android apis, not linux apis.

billions of people disagree with that.

Android is not GNU. Then again it is Linux.
