Due to the recent death of a Dell laptop, I'm window-shopping for a new
one (NOT a Dell), and am leaning towards the Lenovo brand. I seem to
recall some good reports in here about them in regards to Slackware.

The "Thinkpad" seems to be the model of choice. I'm looking for a 15.6"
screen model, with good-to-excellent specs, preferably Nvidia video,
wireless a must. Any experience with recent Thinkpads? There are also
other models of Lenovo that look promising. If you have any knowledge of
compatibility (or lack thereof) on any of these, please share.

Thanks.

Ouch! Yeah, have seen many looking for the IBM made ones but
apparanty the Chinese were making them in the first place so they
seem to have kept up with the older IBM specs. If you are not
looking for a new one, try craigslist.

Thanks for that info. Seems to be the general consensus that these are
good solid machines. Just need to decide now which model to get... :)
