Getting Started with Navisworks Manage 2013
To use Navisworks Manage 2013, you need to install it on your computer. You can download a free trial version from Autodesk website or purchase a license from an authorized reseller. You can also access Navisworks Manage 2013 online help from here.


Once you have installed Navisworks Manage 2013, you can launch it from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut. You will see the main user interface, which consists of several panels and toolbars. The main panels are:







The Scene View panel, where you can view and navigate the 3D model of your project.
The Selection Tree panel, where you can select and organize the objects in your model.
The Properties panel, where you can view and edit the properties of the selected objects.
The Sets panel, where you can create and manage sets of objects for various purposes.
The Find Items panel, where you can search for objects in your model based on various criteria.
The Timeliner panel, where you can create and manage tasks and simulations for your project schedule.
The Clash Detective panel, where you can run and manage clash tests for your project.

The main toolbars are:



The Quick Access toolbar, where you can access common commands such as Open, Save, Undo, Redo, etc.
The Ribbon toolbar, where you can access various commands organized by tabs such as Home, Viewpoint, Review, etc.
The Navigation toolbar, where you can access various tools for navigating the scene view such as Orbit, Pan, Zoom, etc.
The ViewCube toolbar, where you can change the orientation of the scene view by clicking on different faces of a cube.
The SteeringWheels toolbar, where you can access various tools for navigating the scene view by using a circular menu.

Importing Data into Navisworks Manage 2013
To work with Navisworks Manage 2013, you need to import data from various sources into a single federated model. You can import data from different file formats such as DWG, DWF, NWC, NWD, IFC, etc. You can also import data from Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, etc. To import data into Navisworks Manage 2013:



Click on the Open button on the Quick Access toolbar or press Ctrl+O on your keyboard.
Browse to the location of the file that you want to import and select it.
Click on the Open button or press Enter on your keyboard.
Wait for the file to load into Navisworks Manage 2013. You will see a progress bar at the bottom of the scene view panel.
Repeat steps 1-4 for any other files that you want to import into your model.
