I am currently using redhat5.2,
with a display card "Asus AGP-3200" which is a Banshee chipset, card and
with 16M.
I find that redhat5.2 does not support this display card, though i find a
web site concerning how to set up the x-sever for it, but the procedure is
really too difficult for me.
So I think can I use one more display card for the Linux. Cos i have a S3
display card which i used this be4 i upgrade my machine 1 month ago.
Can i use both card, and set up the X-sever of the S3 display, and ignore
the AGP display in Linux.
I know i can just use the S3 display card, but i have also a win98 in the
machine, and that new display can let me have a more gd result when i
playing games.

Can any one tell me, can i do it?
If yes, how to do so?

I do NOT claim to be an expert on this subject by any means. I am just
butchering & distributing some information I gained from our Linux Guru
at a LUG meeting. The only reason I am responding is that if I spout off
enough misinformation...somebody may flame us the corrected version of
what i am trying to say =)

AFAIK, XFree86 does not support multi card configurations on it's own.
There is a program out there that costs an arm and a leg that will make
it possible (I forget the name because after I heard the price I decided
I couldn't afford it). Our guru has 4 monitors and said that it is best
if they are all from the same company (so that their chipsets are
similar...maybe).

Anyway...it is possible to get two or more mixed (AGP and PCI) cards
working, but as far as specifying that one be disabled...I have no clue.
Have you checked to see if SuSE has the driver for your card? The
drivers are specific to XF86 not the distro so you can take a SuSE vga
driver and load it on RH without any problem.

I am curious as to how Win98 would handle your two cards. I would think
that it would be a bear trying to set that up too.

Anyway...good luck!
Fred
