Epson ET-4500 in Linux?

G'dau all.
My HP MFP died a couple of days ago, so I went looking for a newy.
NO HPs goof enough for the job, so I settled for this Epson, which
seemed to fit the billo. It does all four of the usual MFP tricks,
but the only ones I'm interested in are porinting and scanning
(with OCR).
It workd fine under 'Doze (drivers on CD), except that there's no
OCR software for it. WTF?
So I got on the net looking for it, and found nothing I like, so
I went to Slackbuilds and got some OCR stuff for Linux. Now, for
OCR work I have to scan in 'Doze, then trasnfer the images to
a Linux box for conversion. (Haven't tried it yet.)
PITA.
Does anyone know whether there's any way to get the ET-4500
printing and scanning from Linux? I have CUPS and xsane.
It turns out not to be a postscript printer. Dammit!

In order to install these drivers, you need to install LSB package
(version 3.2 or later) beforehand.
Ubunbu:
# apt-get install lsb
Fedora:
# yum install lsb
OpenSUSE:
# yast --install lsb
Epson provides .deb/s or .rpm/s for 32 or 64 bit or tar.gz
