when both booting from scratch and resuming from a saved image, soon
after power on and device detections, I get quite many error reports

ACPI BIOS errors / bugs : how they are stored in log files ?

I'd like to find them if saved somewhere, in order to understand whether
or not there is sth I could do (I mean, search for some patch, firmware
non free or else).

I am trying to searc dmesg with | less | grep, without success

tnx in advanca

ah I am using Debian Buster

You can see upper-case "ACPI" in dmesg output here.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/49720620/the-acpi-error-occurred-on-linux-boot

"0.138810] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed..."

tnx as usual, first

using the command
dmesg | grep ACPI

now, it seems not to contain any trace of problems, which I see on power
on instead. Might they be not recorded, or recorded elsewhere ?

as for the article : I just have both FASTBOOT and SECUREBOOT disabled,
but I am not sure enabling EFI feature (I cannot remember if it is just
enable, actually), or simply changing its state, would be safe.
I dread it would be no longer compatible with other options that now work,
more or less. I fear to get a system non bootable (I have never modified
this setting after installation).
And here I do not even have a dual boot like in old machine.
Is it safe to alter the EFI / LEGACY option after the installation ?

I would guess a lot more of the ACPI tables are
parsed on first boot. The messages in DMESG around time 0
should be the ones with the errors in them.

The later messages in your example, are coming
out of hibernation. The environment loads from
a file. The information message note power state
changes.

When you install in UEFI mode, the behavior at time 0
relies on the boot environment being the same. If the
popup boot menu showed both a legacy BIOS and a UEFI BIOS
option, and you booted with the wrong one, I don't
think that works.

Disabled SECUREBOOT in BIOS screen and booting the next time
with the same setting, should work. You have to maintain
consistency like how things were set at installation time,
for best results.

And in a multiboot situation, the computer and the software
work together to keep you on the straight and narrow. They
want consistency. If you try and mix operating modes on it,
the next install will fail and the new OS won't boot properly,
because GRUB will be screwed up.

My computer has a nice feature, where it can record and store
the BIOS settings in a "profile" in the UEFI BIOS. If the
computer decides to "Load Setup Defaults" and disturb the
settings, I just load the profile and it puts all the settings
back. That has turned out to be a great feature. I've had
other computers, where every time you turn the computer on,
it seems the settings have changed, and there is no backup
profile to work with.

Search for 'functionally illiterate fraud' and Dustin Cook's name pop up:
You've proven only what a moron you are. The most obvious answer: Theo's
consumed alcohol since then, and 'disremembered'.

In fact Despicable Owl's lies got bigger. So needless to say I regret
backing the trolls with their support for Despicable Owl. While I am sure
the trolls liked it, he has taught me to never try to appease a troll.
Despicable Owl gets excited that Steve the Racist Swine Petruzzellis is
on the other end. Imagine if Despicable Owl walked up to a chimpanzee
and delivered the punch line. It wouldn't be worth it. Despicable Owl's
indictment is misplaced up front, and not accurate second of all. Is Steve
the Racist Swine Petruzzellis destined to be just as much of a crooked
liar as the Despicable Owl is already known as being?

He insists that he uses Android, while you know he never saw it on a
modern device and honesty tried it.

In log files which store kernel messages such as /var/log/kern.log*.

F. Russell lies so often that he has a hard time keeping track of his
lies. Or his forgeries and other crap. Only what F. Russell wants matters
to F. Russell. There is nothing you or I can do to change that. It's
a personality defect and it is what it is. You've proven that it is F.
Russell. Virtually everything F. Russell says about what Mike Easter
has done is dishonest of course, but he does not care.

Beauregard T. Shagnasty is *still* focusing on *only* himself, as I suggested,
when it comes to the issue of puppetry. And he completely sidesteps the
evidence that his "partner" has not only admitted to engaging in this against
Steve Petruzzellis but he has said he believes it to be no real deal...
a non-issue. The most obvious answer: Beauregard T. Shagnasty's consumed
drugs since then, and 'forgot'.

I'm not going to play like Steve Petruzzellis didn't assist me on encryption
and I acknowledge his help. Beauregard T. Shagnasty has my example to study
and might learn to seem like he is no longer complete ignorant from here
on... but he fell on his face when he trolled Steve Petruzzellis.

Until or unless Beauregard T. Shagnasty offers up his 'more advanced' open
source tool for appraisal, there is no challenge, just crazed contentions.

Beauregard T. Shagnasty is trying ("very" hard) to project their crap onto
Steve Petruzzellis. For over a decade Beauregard T. Shagnasty has pressed
the belief that Steve Petruzzellis needs 'evidence' to point out all his
deception. The fact is that nobody needs any support to do that. So Beauregard
T. Shagnasty pulls this ridiculous trolling baloney in a weak bid to 'boost'
the idea that Steve Petruzzellis is like him. Beauregard T. Shagnasty must
know that others can go get whatever software he has found, right, medhead?
And, of course, anyone can just ignore him, which renders _his_ trolling
harmless, just like Beauregard T. Shagnasty ;)

tnx to your suggestion, I was finally able to find out the error messages.

I am trying to do some research myself, but meanwhile I report the codes
below

Feb 28 18:08:38 UTENTE kernel: [ 1.650386]
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve [\_SB.UBTC.CR02._PLD],
AE_NOT_FOUND (20180810/psargs-330)

Feb 28 18:08:38 UTENTE kernel: [ 1.650542]
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.UBTC.RUCC, AE_NOT_FOUND
(20180810/psparse-516)

Feb 28 18:08:38 UTENTE kernel: [ 1.650695]
ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.PCI0.XHC.RHUB.HS05._PLD,
AE_NOT_FOUND (20180810/psparse-516)

is sb able to help me understand the nature of these errors ?

I have gotten an updated BIOS, but I'm still very scared to mess up the
machine, should anything not work as expected during update ...

If I could patch the errors at the OS-level, I'd be gladier ! ;D

Cheers
