Selecting file-type in FireFox

I already asked it on the FireFox newsgroup, but did not get a
response. That is why I am posting it here.

When using gmail you can attach a file. You get a pop-up where you can
select the type of the file. But the only type you can select is 'all
files'. That is not very useful. For example: I would like to attach a
PDF-file. I would like to only see folders and PDF-files, not all
files.

Is there a way to accomplish this? I am working with openSUSE 12.3 and
FireFox 20.0.

the problem you describe is not one with SUSE/openSUSE, Linux or even
Firefox (the same happens in Chrome)....instead it is a problem with
the Google Mail site itself...so, ask there for a possible resolution..

The way round that is creat a folder and place all pdf files in it.
then when you want to attach a pdf file navigate to the folder.

What you described is the same for flock. IE if i want to attach a file
to an email it says the same thing. I would assume that if you done the
above from any browser it would say the same thing. Just tried it from
thunderbird got the same thing "all files".
