How can I get a desktop icon for an application, e.g. java -jar test.jar.
How can I place an application icon in the taskbar, e.g. Thunderbird.
How can I save Konsole 'History'?
Thanks

One easy way that I use is with the classic kickoff menu, Menu
Editor...pick a category, select new item, then navigate to the
application..assign an icon also.

Drag it there from the menu when panel is unlocked.

Vita brevis breviter in brevi finietur,
Mors venit velociter quae neminem veretur.
Download Gnome packages. KDE4 is a lost cause. I closed that icon box on
the desktop and could find no fracking way to get it back. I dragged and
dropped an icon on the desktop and it didn't work, it was transparent
but non fuctional. I gave up on KDE; again.
If you mean the Desktop Folder...
Right click on desktop, make sure to unlock widgets, then Add Widgets, select Folder View, hit Add Widget at bottom/then Close.
There will be a Home Folder, hover over it, then select the "wrench" options button. In that window, tick on Show the Desktop
folder, and hit OK.
" " All that for a desktop icon!! <pats KDE 3.5>
Hopefully they won't sabotage gnome like kde.
Menu: Scrollback -> Save Output
This don't work. There is NO tick to show the desktop folder.
