I recently bought a computer with Windows 8 pre-installed. I fired it off,
stumbled around until I could do all the patching. Then I booted a network
install CD and loaded OpenSUSE 12.3, and did the patching on it.
Since then I don't think I've booted Window, on purpose. We have a need for the
TaxAct software, that's it and I haven't found anything to run under linux that
isn't web-based. Now it's patch Tuesday, May 14, and I should patch it. Being
the trusting guy that I am I've got a couple of questions. Has anyone done this
patching? Did it screw up the bootloader?
