With a 1024x768x256 framebuffer lilo screen, I get two penguins in the
top left corner. Why two? Anybody know?

yup, and I had to discover the vga modes 775 and/or 796 to
at last see all the little Tuz on my new i7 :-)

Sure, and someone will wake up and find they no longer have a dual core
CPU, they have a quad core.
