hehe :), It's the default hostname/login for Slackware. Log in as 'root'
and use the password you were asked for during the install. If you were
not asked for a password during the install, just login as 'root' and
hit 'enter'.
Have fun!! And don't forget to read the Slackware FAQ posted here in
this newsgroup or read it here:

"Darkstar" is the default name of your computer when installing Slackware
(any version).
At the login prompt, enter;
darkstar login: root <enter>
and then your password;
Password: <enter>
(the characters of your password won't appear on the screen)
Now you are logged on. Well done. Wasn't that fun?
Now go read this:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/LDP/gs/gs.html
You can skip the part about installation and jump right into:

Best regards,
Brian
You don't know how to login?

|I just did my first install, slackware 7.0 At the end of the install
the
|last line is "Running gpm..."
|Then...
|"Welcome to Linux 2.2.13.
|darkstar login:"
|
|I haven't been able to find any reference to this in the doc's or
|faq's. Anybody know the answer to this one?

It simply extracts "darkstart.sample.net" from /etc/HOSTNAME.
