Fedora 11, Kernel - 2.6.29.6-217.2.3.fc11.i686.PAE and Gnome 2.26.3,
Ext 4 files.

Recently something seems to be writing ".autofsck" to the root
directory each time the computer boots.

I have deleted the file and rebooted and fsck doesn't run but the file
is re-written to root so that it will run on the next boot.

The current system has been installed for approximately one week and
up until this afternoon I do not believe that fsck ran (based on boot
times). Suddenly, this afternoon everything slowed down dramatically.

Can anyone tell me if there may be a specific reason for fsck to run -
a damaged file system - or whether this is some sort of (every week"
sort of schedule.

Cheers,

John B.
