Which software is the most popular for webcam use in linux? Trying "Cheese"
at the moment, but looking for more options.

I have two Dynex 1.3MP webcams running on two linux machines. No problems
and they are recognized right away. They work very well in Skype.

With my old logitech quickcam messenger, the following works ...
xawtv -nodga -noxv-video -c /dev/video0

That worked great specially with the new Video4linux Control Panel. Love the
option of disabeling Auto Focus

Kamoso is a similar app to Cheese but for KDE instead of Gnome.
