I finally figured out how to make the Canon i960 printer function under
Mandrake 9.1:

I used CUPS.
The printer is connected via the USB1.1 connection

I chose the CANON BJC 8200, CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5 driver.

Did a test page and colors were light. Fiddled with the various color and
saturation adjustments and now it works quite nicely.

I will have to admit, that it is slower to print but at least it does
print.

I now have to figure out how to get Mozilla to recognize it. The printer
works fine with other apps.

Figured out how to add i960 to Mozilla:

I'm using KDE.

In Mozilla

1. Click Print
2. Click Properties
3. Change print command to "kprinter --stdin"

Now when I go to print a Mozilla page, I get a second window with choices.
So far, so good.

The above steps were gleaned from a posting I found by the following
