Here is how you may have google-chrome on your Plank dock. You need to be
root for this. Create a file and add the following lines:
Add the text below:
[PlankDockItemPreferences]
Launcher=file:///usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop
Save your file with the name: google-chrome.dockitem in your plank/dock1
directory
