Will rPi help break WinTel monopoly?

Is it true that there are now more *nix [mostly android] devices sold than WinTel PCs?

rPi seems to be makeing quiet a wave?
It's success will depend largely on the contributor-eco-system that evolves.

The FB/twitter-kiddie-generation controllers are not making it easy for potential
collaborators. How is it possible, that USEnet which was DESIGNED for efficient
collaboration, is increasingly bypassed for clown-based http systems?

As an example, I wanted to ask:
where's the <packageList>; has the default OS got mc, gpm, links/elinks/lynx ...?
[I haven't got access to a live one these days, to check it]

So I joined their blog-thread already discussing `mc`; which is related to my query.
In my 3rd-world/failed-state location, it costs me MONEY to stay on line, so I
pre-plan a set of URLs and 'shoot them all off' when I go on-line.

Compare this absurdity, with USEnet usage.

JeeZ!! What if EVERY project needs you to remember THEIR ID & pswrd ?!
Consider how inefficient this is compared to USEnet.
Or is this disasterous waste of effort [jumping thru hoops] just designed to
mop up the youth unemployed?

And I'm just using a <text only http fetcher>.
Imagine the bandwidth usage, compared to USEnet, when a
full-featured-graphic-browser is used!

The other crit of rPi is that they inevitably use Brit-baby-talk,
which also inevitably has contaminated Debian docos. eg. they say:
"would you LIKE to pass the sugar" instead of "please pass the sugar";
"you might want to try <URL>" instead of "<URL> has related info".

IMO tech-docs should not use "you".

PS. I'm post this crit here, because I can't afford to PAY to blog.
Perhaps the crit will percolate up to the rPiTrust controllers.
