Software installation

I've been trying to install a game called "Dinopark Tycoon" on freeDOS
lately, but to no avail. Dinopark Tycoon is on an optical disc and
apparently runs on DOS (It's also MS-DOS compatible).
After booting up freeDOS, I directed it toward my D: drive which is my
CD-ROM.
The manual says to type in "setup", and I did so. This is were things
start getting problematic. This is what it looks like:
C:\>D:
D:\>setup
D:\>'Lö(Ab◄!Fü
Bad command or filename - "'Lö(Abä".

Now, it probably goes without saying that I did not type that
jibberish, it just happens. I tried restarting the computer, turning
it off and on, cleaning the CD, all that good stuff, but to no avail.
I'm relatively new to freeDOS (I installed it this morning) so I'm not
really sure what to do. How do I fix this problem?

I would try to copy the whole cd to
a temp directory on c:.
Then try to install from that.
if it fails, do a (was it subst c:\tmp k:)?
Anyway, declare the dir to be drive k.
then try to install from K: .
If that does not work, minutely scrutinize the
cd for help/install info, or a fac file.

sounds like a corrupt "setup" to me.
what files are on the CD? is "setup" a com, exe or bat?

occasionally dos programs aren't used to having most of 640k free, you
could try using a bit up (load a device driver low)
what does "mem" show?
