Is freeDOS still an active project? I love the OS, and I use it as my
Primary OS for work, without a GUI it provides me a nice, no BS and
distraction free environment for getting what I need done. I know that
the project is what, 15 years old? Is it still current? I love what
has been done with it and would find it sad to see it end at only
v1.0. Or am I missing something? Are there more current builds
floating around anywhere?

It has a fairly active development mailing list; I get 5 to 15 messages
a day on it, and it looks like they're nearing another release.

Good 'cos Arachne wasn't integrated last time (wrong default directories
v. config files).

Thank you for your reply. It makes me happy that their is still
development going on with freeDOS. I myself love older OSs, and
routinely theme my linux installs to look more legacy :).

I have been working on a 'ancient' looking GUI for my linux system
lately... lol. I love vintage, and I love using vintage in on modern
systems. Then I found freeDOS :)

Is there a link to where I can get on the dev mailing list, just to
eavesdrop?

You do it through source forge (I don't have exact urls any more):

freedo...@lists.sourceforge.net

freedo...@lists.sourceforge.net
