Hello, Having networking working under FreeDOS, I decided to install Windos.

So, The setup went through just fine, however I can't actually load Win 3.11.

I had a problem with memory size, getting the PageOverCommit error. I'm running FreeDOS in a VM, so I reduced virtual RAM to 128MB and set PageOverCommit=4 and everything was fine... or not.

Now I'm getting the following error:

ERROR: Unsupported MS-DOS version.

Invalid Opcode at 0CB7 FEE6 3006 01AF 0B99 3206 0439 0E60 0001 1AEA 0301 0561 0EC7

The System returns to the shell (C:\>), but it hangs. CPU at 100%, etc.

Anything I could do to work-around that?

I tested Win 3.11 on virtual MS-DOS 6.22 and DR-DOS 7.03, It works fine there.

Cheers,

Here is a thread, try some of the things here
http://fd-doc.sourceforge.net/faq/cgi-bin/viewfaq.cgi?faq=Kernel_and_Drivers/2954
But I also noticed there are some issues with running WinDoz 3.11. I
think there was/is an experimental branch that tried to work around
it.
