Long file names?

I needed to be able to run quick basic to support a now 13 year old
project. I'm running 64 bit windows-7 and Linux Mint dual boot. I
rarely use windows anymore and wanted a solution to run QB from within
Linux. I know about dosbox and dosemu but I ended up with VMplayer. At
first I installed an old copy of WindowsME, but that is a bit overkill.
I now have FreeDos running under VMplayer and it works ok, the only
issue being no file sharing between the host and the guest (which works
under Win-Me). To fix that I just created an .iso image of the files
from Linux that I needed to see under FreeDos and mounted that image as
the cdrom.
The only sore sport is that freedos doesn't support long file names for
dir and cd. QB45 has no issue with it. Any plans to add this?
