Intel's Next Unit of Computing (NUC) is a new desktop x86 barebones PC.

The EFI BIOS (Windows 8 ready) has a Compatibility Support Module (Classic
BIOS)
which appears to allow DOS (real mode boot sector/OS) to boot and run (on
the bare metal)
from a USB flash drive (or even SSD).
