name in the username field. We had to reformat the server and start
over. We're using Metaframe 1.8 on an NT box, using Novell Netware,
version 4.60. When you log into Citrix, a Novell Security message pops
up and says, "The system could not log you into the network, make sure
your username and password are correct"

When I click the OK button, it take me to the Novell log in window, with
the last person who logged in. Before we reformatted, it was a blank
log in window. Any clue on why it's saving the last person that logged
in??????????

Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike

ah ha

i had this problem and i searched citrix... the solution is a reg hack which
is....

Create the registry string value in the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

String Value : DontDisplayLastUserName

Value: 1

if you want to read more

do a search on Citrix's site in the Solution Knowledge base for

clear AND login AND name

thats how i found it....

hope that helps

Thanks, I changed it but now it says, The user does not exist in the specified
context. When I click OK, the username is blank, but it's entering my
password.....any ideas on this part?

this could be do with you are trying to log in to the context, assuming its
NDS.

but i'm not too hot on Netware, just know enough to get by.

hope that helps

There are some very good TIDs at support.novell.com dealing with this issue.
I dont remember the numbers but you can search on "login name" or "last
login name" or something like that and find them. The documents deal with NT
in general i believe but the fixes work. Let me know if you dont figure it
out and I'll dig up my documentation.

We are running the 4.7 client and had the same issue. We resolved it
by changing the following registry value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows
NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

String Value : DontDisplayLastUserName

Value: 1

and then changing the value of the following from 0 to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Novell/Logon/

String Value : DontShowLastUserName

Value: 1

I can't double-check the registry hive / key path for this one because
I'm on the road. You should be able to search by the string value and
locate it. Once we changed this one also it gave every user a null
logon box.
