Interesting new problem

seems to time out. And it returns an 502 error. Even after I have
confirmed with my isp's tech support that I am authorised to use the nntp
server.
Any ideas?

I'd check it with a different newsreader. It may be that pineapple has
something weird happening.

Anything that you can compile, I'd assume. (I never used BeOS for internet.)
If this was happening to me, I'd try tin.

There was one called newsreader <http://www.bebits.com/app/776> that I
used to use when I had a BeOS machine.
