MEETING DATE CHANGE TO TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28

Unavoidable conflicts on the normal 4th Thursday meeting date
(September 23), have necessitated a change to an alternate date
for this month, to meet on Tuesday, September 28th.

SEPTEMBER MEETING AGENDA

A most interesting agenda is being prepared for the September
and October meetings: ** File sharing between OS/2 & Linux **
One system running RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0 Workstation
(RedHat 9.1); the other OS/2 4.52 (with TCP/IP 4.3). In these
hands-on sessions, we'll explore file sharing between networked
OS/2 and Linux PCs.

Part 1, on the first of the 2-month series, will deal with the
setup of a Network File System (NFS) server and client on OS/2
and Linux. Part 2, the following month, will deal with NETBIOS
(Server Message Block, aka Samba) based file sharing. All the
necessary protocols and user access configurations on each OS
will be covered. Interested users are encouraged to attend both
of these two meetings of high current interest.

Other September agenda items include announcements, news & new
software releases, Q&A session, and possible 50/50 raffle.
Pizza will be ordered if there is sufficient interest.

. 7:30 - 8:30 NFS presentation/demo: OS/2 <-> Linux
. 8:30 - 8:50 Meeting Break: Refreshments, raffle, etc.
. 8:50 - 9:50 Continue NFS presentation/demo.
. 9:50 Close-down, pack-up & exit building by 10:00pm

Mark the date and time: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 7:00pm.
PASUG meetings are open and free for all users, their guests
and others interested in learning about OS/2, Linux & their
associated technologies. Please try to be on time promptly by
7:00pm to avoid missing earlier parts of the meeting.

PASUG meetings are held at the Bryn Mawr Community Center, next
to Ludington Library, at the corner of Lancaster and Bryn Mawr
Avenues, Bryn Mawr, PA. on the 4th Thursdays of Jan to Oct, and
the 3rd Thursdays in Nov and Dec.
