Are you hard to get along with? Are you a difficult personality?
Don't work well with others? Have you been kicked off of other ships
in the Fleet because of a "bad attitude?" Then the ISS MacArthur is
the ship for you!
HAIL THE EMPIRE!
Retaking the Terran Empire, one system at a time! Remember the Prime
Directive; Terror must be maintained. The actions of the Empire must be
swift and merciless. Conquest is your destiny. Glory is your destiny.
You will serve the Empire with distinction, or die painfully. This is
your oath to your Captain, and to your Emperor. Hail the Empire!
OK, really now...
It's not really 2381. We're not really on a starship. We're all
not really merciless savages in a mirror universe. We just pretend to
be, that's all!
The ISS MacArthur is a Star Trek and Science Fiction social club based
on the Internet with a diverse base of interests, but a general love
for Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry's vision of a bright future for
mankind.
Well, sort of. We role play in the Mirror Universe, as depicted in the
Original Series episode "Mirror, Mirror" and continued in novels
such as Dark Mirror and seen later on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and
Star Trek: Enterprise. Role Play is all in fun, we costume and play
pretend like we are a band of bloodthirsty privateers serving a
ruthless dictator. Hey, it keeps us off the streets and away from the
crack pipe, at least.
We are a correspondence chapter of STARFLEET The International Star
Trek Fan Association, Inc. within Region 2, that wishes to link up with
those beings who are interested in science fiction, writing, role
playing games, card games, or the concepts depicted from the Star Trek
universe. STARFLEET has Chapters world wide. Being affiliated with
STARFLEET gives us the opportunity to meet great friends all around the
world.
Currently, the MacArthur is classified as a "shuttle" in STARFLEET.
We are, essentially, a chapter in training. Once we meet all of
STARFLEET's requirements, we will be commissioned as a full chapter,
a "starship," in the Fleet.
What does it cost to join STARFLEET? Joining SFI only cost $15 for an
individual membership, $16 for Canada and Mexico individual membership
and $20 for other countires. $22 for a family of two membership, $23
for Canada and Mexico for a family of two membership and $27 for other
counties for a family of two membership.
What do you get for your money? If you join STARFLEET you'll be
getting a membership certificate, card, handbook and a yearly
subscription to STARFLEET's newsletter "Communique'".
What would I be mssing out on if I didn't join STARFLEET? Lots... You
will not recieve the membership certificate, card, handbook, or the
yearly subscription to the "Communique'", or take part in any of
the 300 Starfleet Academy course offiered exclusively to members of
STARFLEET as well as any of the scholoarships that Starfleet officers
to its members towards continuing their college education.
You can also buy ISS MacArthur merchandise, t-shirts, and other schwag

The MacArthur is named for General Douglas MacArthur, famed leader of
the Allied Forces in the Pacific Theater during World War Two. Our
motto is a quote from The General, after he left the Phillipines, "We
are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction."
The MacArthur is a source of great fun with lots to offer! We have
weekly meetings on IRC, plus "Away Teams" to local attractions,
conventions, or Sci-Fi related events. At our online meetings we
usually talk about club business as well as Sci-Fi, Star Trek and the
latest news in the Sci-Fi and entertainment world.
The MacArthur is home to "The Black Sheep", Team ADU-057, Starfleet
Special Operations.
The MacArthur is also home to the 668th Marine Strike Group, "The
Neighbor of the Beast" of the Starfleet Marine Corps.
We are also a chapter of Genesis Fleet. We are also currently allied
with Star Trek: Imperium and Imperium Nexus.
Please feel free to join us for one of our weekly chats on IRC on
FleetChat. Stop by anytime, there is usually someone there. You may use
your own IRC client, such as mIRC, Chatzilla, XChat, or others, and go
to the following server:
Server: destiny.fleetchat.org
