Your thoughts and experiences please.
Experience has shown me that a 2 Ghz splitters allow me to maintain much
better overall quality PLUS superior internet connectivity.
I was skeptical too until the Comcast guy gave me 2GHz splitters to
replace my old RS ones!
Most of that crap is made in communist china and, disirregardless of the
claimed "quality", your best results would come from handpicking the one
decent one out of a bucket of many dozens.

The only trouble with amps is they are stupid. The cable boxes
need signal-to-noise ratio, not signal level. The amp boosts
everything it's fed, the signal, the noise...then injects its own
inherent noise from its transistors, making the signal-to-noise
ratio, the db comparison between the signal we want with the
noise we don't, even worse.
The solution is for the damned company to provide excessive
signal levels to cover their own overselling of what was there in
the first place....plus all your neighbors hooking up to whatever
tap they can break into using lampcord into their homes. Comcrap
doesn't. During meal times, when that crap Chinese portable in
the kitchen hooked straight to the coax, is radiating like hell
back into the system, your S/N ratio drops like a rock and you
lose lock in the maelstrom of horizontal output
racket....ESPECIALLY the lower frequency spectrum where your
INTERNET MODEM is screaming its head off trying to be heard over
all the racket between it and the head end low frequency
receiver.
Fibre Optic cable is coming....just hang on for a little while
longer and we'll all look back at analog TV and cable internet
and chuckle about the "good ol' days" when Comcrap was king.

Good God Larry you really are dumber than a rock!
Comcast already has more fiber cable run that Verizon ever plans to
run. When there is a much greater number of fiber ready equipment in
customer homes so it's equitable to do so Comcast will be ready to
deploy fiber to the customers equipment.
Get your head out of your ass and look at the wires and fiber running
from pole to pole and sprouting up along-side the roadways in just
about any location Comcast is operating in and you will be able to see
they are already ready to deploy to the homes. They just need a
customer base large enough to make it cost effective.

A friend of mine just outside The Beltway in MD has Verizon
fibre. He emailed me a Speakeasy speedtest showing 15Mbsp down
just to rub my nose in the dirt.....(c;
I called him on Skype from my Alltel phone....something he can't
do on Verizon Wireless.....PRICELESS.

Lemme know when you get yours. I wanna see 15Mbps download on
Comcrap and how long they'll SUSTAIN that speed before they dump
you for some abuse stupidity.

Bandwidth is useless if they won't let you use it....

This signal is perfect. Doesn't need an amp.
What does the upload on HF look like? How much power output is the
modem using to get to Mama?
I get 15 with Comcast. Actually 12 consistently sustained but often 15
down and UL from 1.5 to 2 meg. Most of the video's I send family
aren't big enough to tell if the 2 meg UL is power boost or not. I see
is no need to record huge videos of family stuff so most are under 3
meg in length after editing. The games I beta test often require very
large downloads frequently.

I'll bite.....
Take your favorite browser to:
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
and pick one of the cities, any you like.
Let the speed test complete, then snapshot the whole screen by
simply pressing SHIFT-PRTSCN to store it to clipboard. Open
Wordpad and paste the picture into Wordpad. Save it to disk as a
wordpad .rtf document.
Post the .rtf document showing your BEST speed to
alt.binaries.sports.ocean a dead newsgroup anyone can access.
We'll all take a look at it from there with OUR wordpad.
Time to separate the truth from the bullshit.....your court!
We'll all be watching for your post...alt.binaries.sports.ocean

Oops....wrong group.
Make it alt.binaries.pictures.radio
That one is dead, too. Use alt.binaries.pictures.radio.
I'll post mine there....just for you.

I know.... alt.binaries.pictures.radio
Mine is there in 31 parts. .rtf from Speakeasy will make it really
hard to forge for him...(c;

Ok, now post the Speakeasy Speed test which ignores the browser
cache. How much does Comcrap charge for 15Mbps, anyways? Is
that really Comcrap? What's the GB limits on it?

Download the screen shot. That's why I wanted him to post the
screen shot...prevents tampering and bullshit.
FYI: These same speeds have been reported buy several other Comcast
customers that have not been terminated for cause as you were so
everyone knows who the liar(s) is / are in this thread. [and almost
every thread you post to.]

It's not my problem if you are to stupid to read the reported speeds
at broadband reports and other test sites.
I don't think a petty thief like you has enough credibility to make
any honest person believe your lies and nasty insinuations.
