I just switched to digital yesterday (1 STB, 2 DTAs, and a
digital TV) so I wasn't able to comment on this earlier.
I'm in southern N. H., not eastern Mass., and I don't see a QAM
EAS channel, although my TV, when scanning the available channels,
found a couple of available channels (84.9 and 98.9) that appear
blank, so I don't know what they're supposed to be. I do, however,
have a channel identified as "EAS" (995) in the digital line-up. Not
only is it identified as "EAS", but while I was setting things up
yesterday there was a local test alert, and I happened to see
information about it on that channel.
I have a Comcast tech coming later today to check out, and
probably swap out, an apparently defective STB (Cisco RNG 100). After
three tries by Comcast personnel to activate it yesterday, all I'm
seeing on it is the following message:
Attention: Your EXPLORER settop is NOT AUTHORIZED for use.
Please call: [
(800)266-2278]
The DTAs activated and are working fine, but not the STB. :-(
