I need some guidance. I can't seem to find any place on the Xfinity web
site that explains what Internet speed options are offered, nor more
importantly, what internet speed I am paying for. Of course the speed test
does a good job of testing and reporting the speed I am receiving. But,
what am I paying for? My bill reports I am subscribed for "Blast Internet
with Power Boost", and if it matters, I am in SE PA.

Thanks

"Blast" is twice the speed of "Performance". Performance is 8Mbps and
Blast is 16Mbps. It is supposed to be $10 more a month than
Performance.

Thanks, that helps, is the "... with Power Boost" supposed to add anything
with my provided DOCIS 3.0 modem?
I measure about twice that speed using the Comcast speed test. Or, should I
keep that on the down low.?

And Xtreme50 is 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up.

Actually, I think the above depends on where you live. In many regions,
Performance speed was increased to 12 Mbps a few years ago.

Go to this page and enter your address or phone #:

https://www.comcast.com/localization/localize.cspx?Referer=%2fshop%
2fbuyflow2%2fproducts.cspx%3fSourcePage

I used Google to determine a semi-random Bucks County address, which I
assume is your area.

Result: Performance is 20/4 and Blast is 30/6 (all Mbps).

And to make it more confusing, Performance is now typically 16 or so,
with Blast! being 20. Comcast just gives 'up to' speeds now, and those
are the PowerBoost speeds.

PowerBoost make it so confusing. I have Performance, and see 24/4 on
most speed tests.

As for finding out what package you have, check your bill. If you only
check on-line, look at the FULL bill available as a PDF. It should
detail everything.

Thanks, as I mentioned, I know what they are billing me for, it's called
"Blast Internet
with Power Boost", what I didn't know before posting here is what that
translates to in quantifiable Mbps, and what options exist. I learned here
that like a lot of things in life: it depends. But based on my measured
performance and the probable provisioned speed, I am getting my fair share.
I appreciate the answers.

My bill only says High-Speed Internet, but by the price, $46.95, and the
price listings in my area, I can tell it's Performance (no Blast), which
is 20/4. By the way, the last two pages of my bill state that as of July
1, prices are going up, and they list the current and new prices. Wow.
The increases are on everything. Some are nickle and dime, but some are
not trivial. You could be paying $20-$30 more per month. The only thing
I didn't see listed was modem rental, for which I now pay $7/month. Wish
there was competition in my area.

Yeah, I know. I sort of thought someone would mention this. Been meaning
to for years, but since my connection has been rock solid for years, I hate
to possibly upset the apple cart. Guess now I should re-think this.

Thanks for the reply.

I have Blast (I think, pretty sure) and am getting a rather solid 27
Mb with Newsbin on larger files. Seattle, WA.

If you have a bundle deal, they don't always detail the HSI package
name. At $46.95, that is probably Performance. That is an 'old' price,
and is now $48.95 in most areas.
