Broadcast channels go to every receiver simultaneously, so regardless of how
many customers are tuned in, it's still just one channel's worth of bandwidth.
Could have been worse - you could have seen a flapping dong ;-)
They use MPEG2 transmission - so if there are errors in the satelite
link some errors are corrected - but you saw errors that were not
corrected. This has less to do with 'bandwidth' and more to do with
sunspots and such.
Hmmm ... I don't think so.
I had allot of pixelations a year ago after a strong wind storm. Some
channels were fine, others not. The faster the changing images the
greater the pixelation. I think the cable lines were lose. The cable
company came out and fixed things up. Now, no more pixelations. Ask your
neighbors, if they have the same problem. It might be yours only or your
area. I have a feeling it is in your cables.
