I've got a DCX-3200 HDTV cable box (not a DVR, I'm told).
It has a USB port right on the front.
Any idea what (if anything) can be done with it?

Ask Comcast through their online chat or phone. Different providers may or
may not support the ports on the box.

Probably nothing. On a DVR, if Comcast enabled it, you could
potentially use it to download shows or attach external storage. I'm
not sure what purpose it might serve on a non-DVR box -- it might simply
be that the manufacturer uses the same box for both DVR and ordinary STB.

According to the DCX3200 user manual, the USB 2.0 host ports (front and rear)
can support a wide range of devices, from media storage through iPods - if
enabled.

But if past is prologue, they will do absolutely nothing on the Comcast
system...

I've used it to charge my PS3 controllers.

It's part of the stock hardware, and is not enabled as far as using a
device connected to it. About all it's good for is to power something
like a cooling fan or light, or charge some devices.

The eSATA and Ethernet ports on the back are also typically disabled.
