Right now, I can get to www6.comcast.net/a/. But when I try to log in to
my account, or click on the email icon, I get taken right back to
www6.comcast.net. I can't get anywhere off that page.

Anyone else?

Comcast also told me to go to http://www.comcastsupport.com/chat to have a
chat in real time (oh, boy), but when I try to go there, I get taken to
www6.comcast.net/a/, too.

All roads take me right back to www6.comcast.net/a/.

Things are getting worse.

You have to use IE.

The www6.comcast.net/a/ is "unavailable" - looks like they are
addressing your problem or the site is overloaded.

Ok, now it's working - 11:44 am EST in MA

Hi, Rick,

Yes, I am using IE6. It's 10:08 PST, and the problem persists. All
links on the portal page take me right back to the portal page.

IE6 as well here. Typing www.comcast.net redirects to www6.comcast.net/a/
here in NJ as well. I seldom use the Comcast web interface and when I tried
to log in, I was sent to a "security update" where I had to answer a few
questions about my account and create a 4-digit PIN? I could not do
anything until I filled out the required info, but upon completion it
recognized me and logged me in. I suspect the "security update" form may
have something to do with the fact that just yesterday I had the Comcast
Digital phone service installed (which is why I went there to begin with
attempting to check my voice-mail online) but I'm not sure. 1:32 EST.

One can get to it with a non-IE or Firefox browser (e.g. SeaMonkey) but
you have to click a link on the "browserupgrade" page in order to access
it. A bug report has previously been filed with Mozilla regarding this.

Once you are on the "browserupgrade" page, look under "How to upgrade?"
The "Comcast.net" link in that paragraph will then take you to the
Comcast portal. Sadly, it only works from the "browserupgrade" page.

SeaMonkey users:
Go to the page about:config
Create a string preference named general.useragent.extra.notfirefox
The string value should be: NOT Firefox/2.0
Then try www.comcast.net again.
Let us know how that works for you.
(This might only work for SeaMonkey 2.0 alpha users.)

Also interesting. Also using Firefox2. Was getting www6.comcast.net/a/
with the Comcast logo (c within a C all in a square box) as the comcast
home page. Rt clicked on the logo and dragged it off to the customize
page and now it opens to the same comcast page I was always on to one
with Comcast.net as a title and address is comcast.net. Please explain
that one to me. Bob

Works fine for me in SM 1.1.7 And the site works fine. Which proves
that it is simply a badly designed UA sniffer on the Comcast site.
