Julie Schwartz, a longtime DC editor, died this weekend after landing in
the hospital with pneumonia about two weeks ago. He was 88 years old.

For more info on Julie, visit Don Markstein's excellent bio at:

Ho hum, I guess even the greats go some time.

:-(

It's quite an achievement, I guess, to be an editor known by name, and I
knew his and appreciated his work.

The last time I used my Ouija board, we actually got the thing to work,
however it didn't work exactly how I had imagined: "Is anybody there...."
And the planchette moved to: "No"

Can you check the URL for that site? I get a server-not-found error.
Thanks.

It works for me - maybe it was down for a while this afternoon?

I just learned of his passing from my friend, Sy Barry.
Julie was one of the most important architects of the Silver Age.
I liked him and enjoyed having conversations with him at Berndt Toast
Meetings.

He published a biography about two years ago.
He had a sense of humor and was energetic and feisty.
I knew he had been hospitalized, but it seemed he was on his way to a
recovery.

He will be missed by friends and fans.
