--Ray Gedeon, who was one of the two most famous referees in the world during
the 1970s as Johnny "Red Shoes" Dugan, passed away on Monday at the age of 89.
Names like Dick Lane, Jimmy Lennon, Dr. Bernardt Schwartz and Red Shoes Dugan
were known nationally when the weekly Wednesday night matches from the Olympic
Auditorium in Los Angeles were syndicated nationally during that time period on
the Spanish International Network.
