David Sylvester, for many years an influential critic, exhibition
organizer and shaper of opinion in the international modern-art field,
died on Monday, June 18, 2001, in London.

Thufferin' Thuccotash! Thylvester dead?

I recall when his son, who was a great proponent of the realist
style of the late 19th Century portrait artists, walked around with a
bag over his head at a modern art exhibition to protest his father's
proclamations, crying out to any who would listen, "Oh, father! I'm tho
ashamed!"
