Woke up this morning, as sometimes happens, wondering about some random thing,
in this case the Spanish province of Almeria where all those spaghetti westerns
were filmed back in the 60s and 70s...when I looked it up on Wikipedia, I found
the usual historical and geographic information about the region, along with a
separate section of the article headed "Largest Salad"....

The contents of that section, to save you linking to it:

On September 29, 2007, Pulp, in Almera (province), Spain tossed the world's
largest salad, with 6,700 kilograms (14,740 pounds) of lettuce, tomato, onion,
pepper and olives, supervised by 20 cooks over 3 hours. A Guinness World Records
judge was present to confirm the new record. The salad was prepared in a
container 18 m (59 ft) long and 4.8 m (15.7 ft) wide.

Then it got sent back because the customer ordered the dressing on the
side.

Why didn't they invite the rest of us to participating in that big salad
tossing?

On Fri, 19 Apr 2013 17:59:49 -0400, MWB <bic...@gmail.com> shouted
from the highest rooftop:
There are all sorts of salads, but strictly speaking, a "Green Salad"
is exactly that. Salad greens such as lettuce, rocket, mesclun and
possibly celery and cucumber and baby spinach or kale. Sometimes it
might include a red lettuce as well. It can be dressed or not dressed.

What they made in the article was more of a "Garden Salad" (sometimes
called a Green Salad in North America). And a Garden Salad usually has
the "greens" as a base and, depending on the variation, the maker's
choice of onion, tomato, celery, carrot, mushrooms, celery, cucumber,
red, yellow or green peppers, sliced hard boiled egg and olives. Other
ingredients include zucchini, Jerusalem artichoke, Globe artichoke
hearts, cooked asparagus, seeds, nuts, ham, tuna, chicken and cheese.
And I may have left out a few.

I never put olives in a Green Salad. But I do in other salads -
especially in a "Greek salad" ... along with feta cheese. In a Caesar
Salad or Salad Nioise I also put in anchovies.

So tell me, do you think someone like Roy should be allowed to
purchase and own firearms without a check of his mental stability just
because he once served in the military?
